is a Cedar Rapids, IA based family owned business that has very humble beginnings. I was introduced to the wonderful world of soy candle making by Joe Assoey a former customer, local businessman, and friend. Joe arranged for my wife Nancy and I to attend a candle making class taught by Michael Richards, the person who is considered the Inventor or the Father of Soy Wax. The class taught us the Benefits of Soy. We found out that soy wax and soy based products can be used to produce a variety of products, candles, soaps, lotions, and lip balms. We really enjoyed this class and learned a lot.

Nancy and I come from families that have six and eight siblings respectively. We are the parents of three adult children and have one granddaughter and one grandson.

Once the candle making bug bit us, needless to say everyone in our very large family and our friends received soy candles for all of the holidays. They all fell in love with their soy candles. Our families received compliments from friend and acquaintances about how good the soy candles made the area they were burning in smell. They wanted to know if they could have us make soy candles for them.

Being a retired salesman of thirty five years, Nancy and I researched the soy candle business and saw the possibilities of a starting our own Soy Candle company. was born and I became a Village Chandler.
